Wok it out

Ever since we finally, and when I say finally, I am talking 6 months after submitting for it, finally got the wok in the mail from Calphalon for our regsitry completion, I have been dying to actually use the wok.  Here was my chance.  And while not from scratch, this meal was still home cooked.
I started with this frozen veggie mix.

I found these noodles at the commissary and decided to give them a try.  I was going for a lo mein type of dish. The only trouble was making sense of the broken English and the not my language directions on the back for prepping these.  I ended up putting them in a pot with water, soaking them, and then boiling for a few minutes.

Then I got the veggies cooking in the very awesome and rather large wok.

Then I wanted to add some protein, and to spare Ryan from always getting tofu, I decided to scramble some eggs alongside my veggies, and then I mixed it all up.

Next, I tossed in some of the noodles...I am not kidding I had so many noodles that not all of them could make it in this dish.  I mixed it all up.  I added a little lite soy sauce (trying to watch the sodium, but it doesn't help that much).  The noodles already had some saltiness so it was flavored well, I just wanted to not have such a dry dish.  For an added bonus I tossed in some sesame seeds.

I must say this was super delicious and if it were served in a restaurant I would have paid money for this and been happy and satisfied.

So that was it for my quick and easy veggie lo mein.

QUESTION: If you had a wok or if you do have one (I would not have one if I didn't get it for FREE), what would you want to make in it?

This looks so good! I love asian foods and stir fry is one of my favorites. I don't have a wok at home and I probably wouldn't use it too often except for something like this dish.
Do you think sauteing (sp?) in a pan would give the same result..I would really like to make this.

Oooh, such a gorgeous wok, and a gorgeous stir-fry! I love stir-fried noodles, and your idea of adding scrambled egg is brilliant!

I adore our wok... I use it at least once a week for stir-fries of all sorts - stir-fried green beans, "un-fried fried rice," pan-seared tofu, etc, etc! :-) It's such a speedy method of cooking, and I think I just like the feel of tossing everything around in the giant wok! :-)

I would LOVE a Wok!! I would make stir-fry, literally all the time. OF course, I make stir-fry anyway, simply using my large Caphalon pan, but using the wok would be much cooler :) I am super excited to move and get more room in my kitchen! I think I would use frozen scallops and shrimp more often, and add it into my stir-fry :)

You are my hero in the kitchen with all of your creations lately! This looks delicious! I love stir fry and even though I don't have a wok, my big stir fry pan works well enough.

I love wok's because they feel so spacious. Did you know that the original woks were handcarved with ledges in them so that you could cook your food and veggies at different rates according to their cooking times? Mainstream commercialization of woks has changed what they were originally meant for...but they still provide a nice, spacious pan!

Yes, I have a wok, and I love it. It's a cheap one, but it works great. I use it to make fried rice and a lot of stir fried veggies.

That is a SERIOUS WOK! I wish I had a gas stove. I know people who NEVER COOK and have them; it's so unfair!

Woohoo, "Wok and Roll!!!" (haha, yeah I'm a dork)

I don't have a wok, but I have something slightly smaller that I use for stir frying. Actually I used it to cook my eggs the other day cuz it was the only clean pan!
